JC Master was invited to attend review conference for METP project
On March 30 to 31, 2011, attorney Daniel Wang on behalf of JC Master attended the annual and review conference of METP project in Beijing. The conference was held by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), European-Chinese Community Commerce and EU-China Managers Association. The leaders of CCPIT, EU ambassadors, professional managers from EU and Chinese enterprises and other professional organizations attended the conference. JC Master was the only law firm invited in eastern China. Attorney Daniel Wang, on behalf of JC Master, conducted thorough communication with people from various sectors and reached consensus on possible cooperation in the future.
JC Master conducted second round law popularization activity
On the afternoon of April 9, 2011, JC Master held a successful law popularization activity in LanYuan commuity, XuanWu District along with NanJing University legal aid center and Changfeng club of law school of NanJing University,. The activity aimed to help people to strengthen their legal understanding and raise people's awareness of law. The members of this activity answered the questions raised by the community residents in full details and with patience. The activity gained high praises from the community residents.

After review by the ALB, JC Master is nominated as “2011 Jiangsu Firm of the Year”. Asian Legal Business will be holding the eighth renowned Annual legal Oscars event in Beijing China, on the 12th April 2011, which will be attended by over 300 partners of PRC and international firms in the PRC, China’s senior business leaders, investment bankers, in-house counsel, judiciary and CEOs and CFOs.
The number of ALB awards includes regional law firms of the year, law firms of the year in various practices, etc. Well-known domestic and foreign firms will compete for the awards. JC Master provide special legal service representing a large-scale and state-owned enterprise in Changzhou for Marriot international hotel project
On April 14, 2011, Daniel Yan and Jessica Liu, partners of JC Master engaged by a large-scale and state-owned enterprise in Changzhou (“owner”) conducted the initial negotiation with representatives from Marriot International, an international well-known hotel management company. Daniel Yan and Jessica Liu provide a series of legal services including advising on hotel chain management legal matters, reviewing, modifying contract package as well as representing the owner in business negotiations, etc.
JC Master held a mountain climbing activity
In order to promote culture construction of our firm, enrich staff cultural life in their spare time, enhance interaction and strengthen the friendship, JC Master held a activity of climbing Zijin Mountain on April 16th, 2011. The activity highlighted the cohesion of the firm and showed our staff’s high spirit. Nanjing Iron & Steel Co., Ltd approved by CSRC of its debenture issuance
Recently, application for 4 billion Yuan debenture issuance by Nanjing iron &steel Co., LTD was approved by the Issuance Examination Commission of China Securities Regulatory Commission. As the net assets of the Company is more than 10 billion Yuan, CSRC conducted summary procedure for examination, which took less than 1 month from material submitting to approval issuance. JC Master was engaged as the special project legal consultant for this debenture issuance.

Recently, Jiangsu Holly Corporation (stock code: 600128) convened a General Assembly of Shareholders which resolved to elected partner of JC Master Li Yuanyang as Independent Director. Partner Li specializes in legal business affairs relating to securities, merger and acquisition, foreign economy and owns extensive experience with respect to governance compliance of listed company.
JC Master was invited to attend the first Forum of Lawyer School
On April 24, “the first Forum of Lawyer School – Lawyers in Judicial System Reform” was hosted in Yifu Hall, Renmin Univeristy of China by its Law School, Lawyer School, Democracy and Legal System Press and FangYuan Legal Magazine. The Forum aims to discuss lawyers’ position and function in judicial system reform, encourage Chinese lawyers to take part in the reform as well as celebrate the 1st anniversary of the Lawyer School. Leaders from the National People's Congress, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Ministry of Justice and other governmental authorities, well-known university professors and representatives from the China Bar Association and famous law firms were invited to attend the Forum. Managing Partner Justin Ma of JC Master attended the Forum on invitation.
JC Master Retained in a Patent Infringement Litigation in U.S.
A renowned vitamin production enterprise of Fujian Province has recently retained JC Master to represent it in a patent infringement litigation filed in United States District Court by a Japanese company. The American and Chinese attorneys have formed an attorney group consists of two patent lawyers from U.S. and two senior partners from JC Master: Daniel Yan and Jessica Liu. The attorney group plans to go to the Chinese respondent’s production site for preliminary discovery in this week.
These four members of the attornet group were the leading lawyers who successfully represented Nantong Foreign Trade Medicines and Health Products Co., Ltd in a “337” investigation launched by US ITC in 2009. |
