JC Master Engaged by a Foreign-Invested Shipping Company Won a Case of Ship-Building Dispute
Recently, the trial of a case in connection with ship-building dispute between a foreign-invested company represented by JC Master and a Chinese shipping company concluded. After hearing the case, Yangzhou Intermediate People’s Court adopted JC Master Counsel’s opinion and held for the foreign-invested shipping company. The case, as a complicated foreign commercial type, involves more than RMB 39 million.

Recently, three enterprises with JC Master as the Special Project Legal Counsel successfully submitted IPO documents to the China Regulatory Securities Commission in March, 2010, one of which intending to list on the Growth Enterprise Board and the other two on the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Board.
JC Master Held a Warning Education Activity
In order to implement the Ministry of Justice’s unified deployment of lawyers’ normative practice and the phasic learning requirements of the Department of Justice of set forth in the Implementation Scheme of Warning Education of the Lawyer Team of the Province, JC Master Law Offices held the first warning education activity of this year on the afternoon of April 2, 2010. The activity focused on learning and discussing the Report of the Ministry of Justice on Li Zhuang’s Violations of the Law and Discipline. Through the review and learning of Li Zhuang’s case, JC Master requires each lawyer to “take the case as reference,” fully recognize the harm of the illegal crime of LiZhuang, and draw lessons from it.
Meanwhile, all lawyers at JC Master had a discussion focusing on how to correctly handle the relationships between lawyer and trustor, judge and public security organs, the problems requiring attention in the investigation and proof collection, how to meet the defendant normatively. JC Master held further discussion on lawyers’ failure to act as dutiful agent, lawyers’ role as agent in private, collection of high fees and other phenomenon during the practice. JC Master further requests all lawyers to strictly comply with the law in practice; strengthen the lawyers’ concepts of professional ethics and practice discipline; strictly observe lawyers' professional ethics and behavior standard. JC Master requests every lawyer to write their understandings of this activity, which could clarify aspirations and incent behaviors.
JC Master Won ALB Jiangsu Law Firm of the Year 2010
On April 16, 2010, JC Master won the honor of “Jiangsu Law Firm of the Year” awarded by ALB at the Seventh Annual Awarding Ceremony (ALB CHINA LAW AWARDS 2010) held at the Westin Bund Centre Shanghai .

JC Master Provided Legal Service for the Development and Establishment of an Industrial Park in Liaoning Province (I)
Recently, Justin Ma, the Senior Partner of JC Master participated into a series of large-scale activities held by a city in Liaoning Province in connection with the development and establishment of an Industrial Park. The Governor of Liaoning Province, the government leaders of the city, and a large-scale Japanese delegation of economy and trade which consists of 76 Japanese entrepreneurs led by the financial and enterprise leaders in Japan, took part in the activities.
In the past 6 months, the legal group led by Justin Ma provided a series of legal services for the development and establishment of the Industrial Park, including designing the profit model, establishing the foreign and domestic legal structures, drafting legal documents, coordinating with the government and the Japanese entrepreneurs, and participation into negotiations.
On July 1, 2009, the State Council discussed and passed in principle the Development Plan of the Coastal Economic Area of Liaoning Province. The plan to prosper the economy of the coastal area of the “Five Key Cities and One Line” in Liaoning Province became the national strategy.
